IFR Instrument Training and Requirements
Don’t let the marine layer, clouds, or low visibility limit where and when you fly! Keep going after getting your Private Pilot Certificate- get Instrument Rated at All In Aviation!
With an instrument rating on your pilot certificate, you can fly with more reliability and certainty. Additionally, you will be a safer pilot after learning and understanding all the rules & regulations associated with IFR flying.
When flying IFR, you can operate the aircraft entirely by reference to flight instruments. You will follow the same Instrument Flight Rules that commercial, corporate and military pilots use.
While obtaining an instrument rating requires dedication and effort, the payoff is tremendous. As an instrument-rated pilot, weather conditions are less of a factor- and you have more flexibility when planning your flights.
It is essential to have a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of these rules and procedures, and All In Aviation has the skills and expertise to properly equip you for the mission.

There are specific criteria to be eligible for an instrument rating. The FAA details them in CFR §61.65. Here’s a short version:
- Prerequisite: Private or Commercial License
- Age: 17 Years
- Total Flight Time: 50 Hours PIC Cross Country Time
- Simulated / Actual Instrument Flight Time: 40 Hours
- Instrument Instruction Flight Time: 15 Hours
- FAA Written Test
-
FAA Practical Test (Checkride)
All in Aviation’s fleet of aircraft are equipped with full glass panel Garmin G1000 avionics, which is an instrument pilot’s dream. These 10” (Cessna) or 12” (Cirrus) displays give you a representation that is intuitive and dramatically increases your situational awareness. Our Cirrus fleet and Cessna N725LV also come equipped with synthetic vision, giving a computer-generated picture of what is outside- it’s like a window through the clouds to help you see!
An instrument rating makes you a safer, more competent and proficient pilot. Don’t let the airplane be more capable than you, learn to employ the full abilities of these amazing machines and open up the world of opportunity to fly wherever you want, regardless of weather.
