Private Pilot License and Requirements
Whether you’ve always wanted to become a pilot and fly with your family, friends or business associates or you want to make a career in aviation, the first step in everyone’s aviation journey is to achieve their private pilot certificate.
A Private Pilot’s License (PPL) allows you to fly day or night, with passengers, in visual conditions.
With over 6,000 airports in the United States with a paved runway, a pilot license gives you the freedom to explore our beautiful country on your schedule, with ease and flexibility.
No more arriving at the airport hours early, going through the headaches of TSA, and loading into public transportation- instead, fly point-to-point, exactly where you want to go, at your convenience.
You’ll gain both freedom and time, when you’re the pilot in command!

The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) establishes the criteria to obtain a Private Pilot Certificate.
Those requirements are spelled out in detail in CFR §61.102-120.
The basic minimums are listed below. It is important to keep in mind that these are the FAA-mandated minimums.
The national average for students to complete their private pilot training is around 70 hours total flight time.
There is no minimum age to start flying lessons, the ages apply to solo flight and license eligibility.
- Age: 17 Years (16 to Fly Solo)
- Total Flight Time: 40 Hours
- Instruction Flight Time: 20 Hours
- Solo Flight Time: 10 Hours

You have many options when it comes to selecting a flight school. All In Aviation takes pride in offering our clients the finest aircraft, in modern facilities, with highly qualified & standardized flight instructors- ensuring the best flight training experience available in the Las Vegas and Henderson Valley. All aircraft come standard with Garmin G1000 avionics, the most modern platform and industry accepted flight deck available. You can choose to utilize our Cessna 172 aircraft equipped with airbags or our Cirrus SR20/22 lineup which come standard with air conditioning, autopilot & whole airframe parachute safety system (CAPS). We value safety the most- All in Aviation’s entire fleet is maintained to the highest standard by an FAA Part 145 Repair Station.
Our Henderson Executive Airport, KHND, headquarters opened in 2020 and feature a pilot shop, multiple private briefing rooms, a convenient customer lounge and our immersive ALSIM ALSR20 AATD Flight Simulator. With only two flight schools based at KHND, All in Aviation provides prompt and efficient operations to get you airborne and learning right away. Rarely do you wait in line for departure at KHND; and the traffic pattern is almost always available to help hone your skills. When your flight is complete, our line support staff will guide you in, and take care of preparing the aircraft for our next client. You won’t be wasting your valuable time fueling up or cleaning the airplane. Instead, you’ll be maximizing your learning with a thorough debrief session with your flight instructor.
Since most private pilot training is completed in Cessna 172 & Cirrus SR20 aircraft, the bulk of your private pilot training will be completed at Henderson. However, our North Las Vegas satellite location offers Cirrus SR22 aircraft available for both training and rental.
Our fleet of aircraft and modern facilities allow us to attract some of the best Certified Flight Instructors (CFI) in the country. Instructors move to Las Vegas to work for All In Aviation. We require that everyone looking to instruct at All In Aviation successfully completes their CFII rating in advance of their employment. Their first week is spent with our Director of Flight Operations going through a standardization & training process before being permitted to fly with clients. We take flight instruction very seriously and want to ensure that when you fly with ANY of our instructors you get a consistent, thorough and detailed lesson to advance your learning.
When your training is complete and you pass your checkride- we will celebrate with you! We look forward to watching you sign our wall, proudly holding your hard-earned pilot certificate. We value our time together, greatly appreciate your business, and want to remember these special dates and accomplishments.
We realize you have choices when selecting a flight school, we strive to make this decision easy!
