Originally from South Korea, Choi’s lifelong passion led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science & Flight Operation at Korea Aerospace University.
During his studies, Choi served as an Instructing Assistant of Initial Training in the Republic of Korea Airforce. After graduating, Choi relocated to Redmond, Oregon where he finished his training at Hillsboro Aero Academy.
Working as a ground class, flight, and check instructor, Choi provided safe and comprehensive instruction to trainees in the Ascend Pilot Program. Choi considers himself an aviation pioneer, holding commercial pilot (CPLSE/ME with IR) and flight instructor (CFI/CFII/MEI) certificates, as well as a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Gold Seal Instructor certification.
When Choi isn’t teaching, he enjoys quality time with his wife and family, and indulging in activities like golfing, playing drums, and watching movies. His love for flying often takes him to different parts of the U.S., Japan, and back home to South Korea.
