Carl was born and raised in Arizona, and his initial introduction to aviation was at age 13, when he took his first discovery flight in a Cessna 152.
While in college at the University of North Dakota he worked as an intern with the City of Phoenix at Sky Harbor International Airport, which solidified his interest in aviation.
Since Carl began flying in 2003, he has built over 20 years experience in the field and has flown over 30 different makes and models of aircraft where he has accumulated over 6,000 hours flying. Most of which are while instructing.
In 2019, May relocated to Las Vegas after managing an Arizona based flight school for five years.
He has been a Platinum Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot (CSIP) for over ten years and is qualified in both Garmin and Avidyne avionics.
